Services & Fees

Every pet and situation is unique. Before any appointment is confirmed, you will be provided you with a clear estimate for services so that you can make an informed and comfortable decision. There are no surprise costs—just compassionate, transparent care tailored to your needs. Payment is due at time of service and acceptable forms of payment include cash, check or credit/debit card.

Consultation and Euthanasia

In-Home Euthanasia – $475 (cats, dogs), $425 (exotic pets)

This visit includes a brief physical exam to confirm that humane euthanasia is appropriate. Sedation is administered first to ensure comfort and relaxation. Once the pet is peacefully sedated, a final injection is given to allow for a gentle and dignified passing.

A clay paw print impression and lock of fur can be provided as keepsakes, if desired.
Appointments typically last approximately 30-45 minutes.

For Anxious or Reactive Pets:
If a pet has a history of anxiety, aggression, or fear of new people, pre-visit sedation or anxiety medication can be arranged to ensure a smoother experience for all involved.

In-Home Palliative Care – $400 (initial visit), $350 (follow-up visits)

This service is for pets with previously diagnosed, end-stage conditions where the focus is on maintaining comfort and quality of life at home.

A Zen Veterinary doctor will perform a physical exam, review the current disease process, discuss what to expect as it progresses, and offer options to support comfort and well-being.

Please Note:

  • Medications prescribed during the visit incur additional fees. We keep a small supply of dispensable medications that I strive to price very fairly and if longer-term medications are required then these can be filled though Koala Pharmacy (an online pet pharmacy that we collaborate with)

  • Appointments typically last approximately 30-45 minutes, follow-up appointments last 30 minutes or less

Virtual Quality of Life Consultation – $75

A 15 minute phone or video consultation to discuss the pet’s current health and behavior. Based on this discussion, guidance will be provided regarding appropriate next steps—whether that includes further palliative support, coordination with the primary veterinarian, or humane euthanasia.

Please Note: diagnoses and prescriptions cannot be provided during this virtual appointment.

After-Death Home Pickup & Transport – $450

For pets who have passed away at home or in cases where the family is unable to manage transport, Zen Veterinary can provide after-death care.

The pet will be respectfully placed in a Euthabag burial/transport shroud, and keepsakes such as a clay paw print and lock of fur can be collected, if desired.
Transport will be arranged to Petrichor Aquamation, a trusted partner providing environmentally responsible aftercare.

Appointments typically last approximately 30 minutes.

Aftercare Services

Zen Veterinary is proud to collaborate with Petrichor Aquamation, a trusted and environmentally responsible aftercare partner offering aquamation—a gentle, water-based alternative to flame cremation.

Pet families may choose from two options:

  • Private Aquamation – Your pet is cared for individually. Ashes are returned in a standard urn or memorial vessel of your choice.

  • Communal Aquamation – Multiple pets are respectfully cared for together. No ashes are returned.

All pets are placed in a Euthabag burial/transport shroud as part of Zen Veterinary’s commitment to dignity and respect.

Aftercare fees are based on your pet’s weight category:

Exotic Pets (< 6 lbs): $250 (private cremation) / $150 (communal cremation)

Cats & Small Dogs (≤ 40 lbs): $300 (private cremation) / $200 (communal cremation)

Medium Dogs (41–70 lbs): $350 (private cremation) / $250 (communal cremation)

Large Dogs (71–130 lbs): $400 (private cremation) / $300 (communal cremation)

Giant Dogs (131+ lbs): $450 (private cremation) / $350 (communal cremation)

*please note that for all dogs weighing 100lbs or more there is an additional $100-$150 fee for transport assistance to Petrichor’s facility from your home. For weekday appointment during regular business hours this fee is $100, for after-hours and weekend this fee is $150
