Deciding on your pet’s care can be tough, especially during a serious illness. If you need help choosing between palliative care and euthanasia, I’m here for you.

These are typically 15-30minute phone conversations or video consultation (via a secure Google Meet video session) where we will discuss your pet’s condition, quality of life, and any worries you have. My aim is to give you clarity and support to help you decide what’s best for your pet.

At the end of our conversation, I will make recommendations, which may include:
✔ Following up with your veterinarian for further care.
✔ Considering a palliative care plan for comfort.
✔ Planning for a peaceful euthanasia when it's needed.

Please remember, this consultation offers guidance and emotional support. I cannot diagnose conditions or prescribe medications during this visit.

When your pet is facing a terminal illness, our priority is to keep them comfortable, pain-free, and surrounded by love, with minimal trips to the clinic. During a 30-45 minute home visit, I will/am able to:

• Discuss your pet's condition and what to expect.

• Check their comfort and quality of life.

• Review care options to keep them happy and relaxed.

• Perform a basic ultrasound to check for fluid and conduct non-invasive blood pressure testing.

Medications & Treatment Options

Extra charges apply for any medications provided during the visit, which may include:

• Pain relief and anti-inflammatory medications

• Appetite stimulants and anti-nausea medicines

• Subcutaneous fluids for hydration

• Any other necessary comfort therapies

Refills can be ordered online for your convenience through Koala Pharmacy.

Saying goodbye is tough. My goal is to make this experience as gentle and stress-free as possible for both you and your pet.

During a 30-45-minute visit, I will:

• Confirm that humane euthanasia is right for your pet.

• Provide medications for pain relief and relaxation before the goodbye.

• Offer a clay paw print and fur clipping as keepsakes if desired.

• Administer a final injection for a peaceful passing.

For Anxious or Reactive Pets

If your pet gets nervous or has a history of aggression, I can arrange sedation medication before the visit for a calmer experience.

I am here to support you with kindness and care, creating a loving and respectful environment in your pet’s final moments.

I provide in-home end-of-life care for small mammalian exotic pets, including rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, and other pocket pets.

During a 30–45 minute visit, I will:

• Confirm that humane euthanasia is the appropriate next step based on your pet’s condition.

• Provide gentle sedation and pain-relieving medications before the final goodbye.

• Offer a clay paw (or foot) print keepsake, if desired and appropriate.

• Administer a final injection to ensure a peaceful and dignified passing.

For Birds, Reptiles, and Amphibians
At this time, I do not provide in-home euthanasia services for avian, reptile, or amphibian pets. Gas anesthesia options may be preferable for safe and humane euthanasia, which are best performed in a brick-and-mortar veterinary clinic setting—either with your regular veterinarian or at a local veterinary emergency hospital.

Aftercare Arrangements:
Following your pet’s peaceful passing, I offer three thoughtful aftercare options to help you honor your companion’s life and memory:

1. At-Home Burial – A personal choice for families wishing to lay their pet to rest on their property.

2. Communal Aquamation – A respectful, eco-conscious (water-based cremation) option without ashes returned.

3. Private Aquamation – A gentle (water-based creamation), individual process with your pet’s ashes returned to you.

Each pet is placed in a Euthabag burial/transport bag, ensuring dignity and care during this final step.

This service is intended for pets whose primary concern is unresolved aggression—particularly when the behavior is not responsive to medical treatment or behavioral modification, and when it poses a consistent risk to household members, visitors, or other animals.

Behavioral euthanasia is never approached lightly. These cases involve deep emotional strain and often come after months or years of effort. At ZenVeterinary, our goal is to offer families a compassionate, judgment-free space to discuss this option with clarity and care.

A required phone consultation must take place prior to booking to determine if behavioral euthanasia is appropriate. Additional fees may apply to ensure the safety of all involved.
